A Sense of Community
Updated: Apr 30, 2020
The "Clap for Carers" each Thursday is one way we can show our appreciation for key workers, particularly NHS and care home staff who form the "front line" in the battle against the coronavirus.
But this new Thursday custom is showing something more: it’s showing how these strange times are bringing people together. In my street, a new community spirit is being forged. Neighbours are looking out for each other, showing concern for those who are vulnerable or alone, and offering help to those who cannot go out. We're all getting to know each other better.
To which communities (workplaces, clubs…) do you belong, and how are they meeting the challenge of the pandemic? Please tell us in the comments section at the bottom of this page.
